Play Ball!! The Marion Hungry Mothers bring baseball back to town.

It all started in 1955 with the Marion A’s… fast forward to 1965 to 1976 and fans were cheering for the Marion Mets at Hurricane Stadium, and now a new collegiate summer wooden bat team, The Marion Hungry Mothers, will be stealing bases at Marion Senior High Stadium and stealing the hearts of fans while they’re at it! Owned by The Marion Baseball Club LLC, they’ll play 35 games their inaugural season running May to July. Named in honor of a local Virginia State Park, the Marion Hungry Mothers plan to bring in D1, 2, and 3 athletes, junior college, NAIA players, and more in to the team. Marion will play independently their first year on the field, Steve McMillian, who was head baseball coach at Southwest Virginia Community College, will coach the Marion Hungry Mothers. The season opener is planned for Memorial Day May 26th against the Carolina Disco Turkeys.
