The real reason for Memorial Day is not cookouts or outings…not picnics or parties. The real reason for Memorial Day is to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This year on Memorial Day, 93.9 WMEV and Meade Tractor of Abingdon will be sharing the stories of those from our community who died protecting our liberties and way of life…our Hometown Heroes. And we invite you to tell us about your American hero. Use the form below to send us stories about your family members or friends who gave their last full measure of devotion to our country. Tell us the interesting and heroic stories about them and their military service. You can include amusing or funny things about your hero. Tell us about your hero’s hobbies or love interests. Include which war(s) in which your hero served and a little about how your hero died.
